SYSTEM OVERVIEW

From intent to an inspectable action

A workflow designed around the engineer’s decisions.

  1. 01

    Intent

    Natural-language request

  2. 02

    Inspect

    Repository, stack, config

  3. 03

    Diagnose

    Health and connectivity

  4. 04

    Review

    Command + approval gate

  5. 05

    Evidence

    Visible operation results

↳ Illustrative workflow · execution follows explicit approval

Operational work begins with context: what is in the repository, how the stack is configured, what is failing, and which action is appropriate. An assistant needs to make that context and its proposed actions visible to the engineer operating the system.

The build

Iceman puts inspection and diagnostics ahead of execution. Its interactive CLI surfaces repository, stack, and configuration information, investigates Docker and connectivity issues, and presents command previews and advisor warnings before approval. Live progress and evidence help the operator understand what actually happened.

01

Context before commands

Inspection focuses on source, configuration, infrastructure, and workflow files while ignoring generated or heavy directories. The plan starts with the actual project.

02

Make the action reviewable

Command previews and approval gates give the operator a chance to review proposed actions. Advisor warnings add context where a decision is needed.

03

Keep evidence close

Diagnostics collect evidence, identify likely causes, and present remediation with supporting context. Live progress and operational output remain visible through the workflow.

WHAT THE WORK DEMONSTRATES

The current build.

Inspection and diagnostics

Interactive CLI, repository and stack discovery, environment inspection, Docker diagnosis, and health/connectivity checks.

Operator-facing controls

Command previews, an approval-oriented execution model, live progress, evidence, and advisor warnings form the current workflow.

Iceman is an active build. These are the next areas of development.

  • Broader AWS provisioning and deployment workflows
  • Terraform generation and infrastructure lifecycle assistance
  • Deeper Kubernetes operations and Git/GitHub automation
  • Reusable deployment recipes and more Linux environments
  • Expanded cloud diagnostics and remediation
